A couple years ago, I bought a used Bushmaster HBAR carbine upper. It is a "post ban" with the plain muzzle. Paid $150. It shoots well...but the flash is something else.
For example, yesterday I was shooting AE M855 in daylight. I was using a Hakko 4X AR scope on the carry handle. With each shot, the field of view was completely filled with bright white flash... Given that this is a budget build with a used upper, I don't really want to spend the coin to have the barrel threaded. Is there a viable option for a non threaded flash hider? |

In the range of 65$ you can send your barrel in to a shop to be threaded. Iv always used ADCO firearms because they are close to home and do fast reliable work and are knowledgeable and friendly.

Yeah...not too thrilled with that adapter. I'll probably have to get the barrel threaded. Looks like I need to remove the barrel if I use Adco.
Really, the muzzle flash from M855 in a 16" barrel with no flash hider has to be seen to believed. The other ammo I shot was no comparison. |

This just seems like a bad idea.... BRAVO! Nice understatement.
In the drag race towards spontaneous firearm disassembly this is the John Force of ideas. |
