I have been considering an A1 build and saw that RGuns has a complete A1 upper for $150.
Other than their piss-poor delivery time and gawd awful customer service, has anyone gotten one of these?
How is the quality/finish? Is it worth the wait?

And since I would have to hold my nose to deal with an Chicago area company, what are some other venders that deal in retro uppers?

Umm, why not ? As long as you know about their horrible CS, and sometimes long shipping times, I've never heard their lower/upper parts were hesse/vulcan inferior. They don't make their parts in house, just their rollmarks on a major manufacturers parts.

My brother bought two lowers from them and I bought a bolt carrier group, no issues with them.  My brother bought his through a dealer, and I bought the BCG back in February, when parts were scarce (arrived in May.)

As mentioned, they're not known for answering phones o responding to emails in a timely manner.  On the positive side, their prices stayed the same when parts were scarce.

I have built on several RGuns lowers and they have all been fine. I have heard of the horror stories of completed guns from RGuns and their horrible CS but there lowers have been 100% for me so far.
I have a couple of friends that have also built on RGuns lowers and theirs have been great as well. So, stay away from their factory completed rifles, yes...build on their stripped lowers...YES!!!....<><....:)
