| I'm putting parts together for a 6.5 grendel upper. As to a muzzle brake they are drilled to match 5.56 and 7.62 but 6.5 don't seem to be available. Is it OK to go with the 7.62 or get a 5.56 and machine it out to 6.5 and a bit of clearance? If I recall, I read somewhere that an extra 40 mils would be a good clearance number. Will the extra room in the 7.62 adversley affect the performance over a proper sized one? Probably not a big deal but I might as well do it right the first time. Your comments will be most appreciated, Tnx |

Your comments will be most appreciated, Tnx AA and some other barrels use 9/16x24 threads on the muzzle. Most 5.56 AR barrels have 1/2x28 threads, which are not compatible with Grendels. Other companies use 5/8x24 threads. There are muzzle brakes for both available. Here are some sources for muzzle devices for the Grendel: Black Weapons Armory, Smiths, AAC, Vltor, WCI, YHM, Millenium, Noveske, Gemtech, A2, JP |
