Hi.
Purchased a AR m4 type barrel the other day from a gun show. Been told it is a Del-Ton . 5.56 Nato Chamber 1 in 7" twist .750 Gas block diameter M4 feedramps High Pressure Tested ? Magnetic Particle Inspected ? Black shine-outside coating. Anybody can identify the real specs of this barrel? Thanks a lot. http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab279/levik136/20130930_121148_zps52b79d1c.jpg http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab279/levik136/20130930_121746_zps24c44ec4.jpg http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab279/levik136/20130930_121309_zpsde0e8a16.jpg http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab279/levik136/20130930_121126_zps554c7ef3.jpg http://i871.photobucket.com/albums/ab279/levik136/85225f48-ede4-4071-b47f-733094fae734_zpsd097f1a6.jpg |

I'm trying to mach it with a good BCG. It makes sense to manufacture a 1-7 twist barrel out of an inferior Steel and corresponding heat treatment? It looks likea quality part with nice even deep stamping on it. bcm, psa, daniel defence make good mil spec bcg's and there are several others to. It does not make any sense to make a barrel regardless of twist rate from an inferior steel. Does the barrel say DTI like the pic I posted? If not its not a delton. Please post a close up pic of the barrel markings. EDIT I didn't notice the first link you posted of the markings. I'm 100% sure thats not a delton. For future reference never buy a barrel that doesn't have a manufactures stamp/mark on it. |
