I've been lurking for a few weeks now reading and learning as much as I could. I started with a stripped PSA lower, LPK and MOE grip and stock. I assembled that and then the hunt was on for an upper. I quickly learned it was cheaper to buy a complete setup than build my own. I end up going with a RedX Arms 16" pencil profile. Overall I'm happy with how it turned out. I still plan to beta few more goodies for it down the road. Right now I just want to get out and shoot the thing. My second child was just born 5 days ago so shooting is on hold for a little bit.
Specs: Lower: Palmetto State Armory receiver with their parts kit and "upgraded" trigger. Magpul MOE grip and adjustable stock. Upper: RedX Arms complete assembly: 16" 1/9 pencil profile, rifle length quad rail, Magpul MBUS sights, standard BCG and Gunfighter Mod 4 Future plans: Magpul XTM rail covers, flash light and a bi-pod I just wanted to build a fun plinker. I might end up doing a little hog hunting if I get the chance. I apologize for the HORRIBLE image quality. http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af59/brnnrubr/image_zps8c6798c0.jpg http://i993.photobucket.com/albums/af59/brnnrubr/image_zps1aa0d04d.jpg |

Welcome and congrats on baby and rifle! Nice build...shoot it before you begin adding weight to it. If you have to have a bipod...consider a QD mount so you can remove it. They add a lot of weight and you will probably find you don't want it on there except at the bench. Not too many situations where I felt I needed my bipod. A good set of shooting sticks or a Primos shooting stick works great out in the field. The Primo stick is good for binocs or spotting scope too. |

Thanks, guys. I'm curious about the suggestion to mix up mags. I'm the kind of guy that if something works, stick with it. I would just like to hear the other point of view.
As far as the bipod goes, I agree with you there. Not really sure why I want one, just thought I needed it. LOL |
