Heres a different angle. And it's definitely a SSA guys.

The hammer looks correct. I think the different hammer you're referring to may be the SSF which is the select-fire version of the SSA. The machined part seems more squared off than I remember my SSA to look. Out of curiosity I'll open up both of mine tonight to compare. I've got one I just purchased, and one from around when the SSA was first released. Edit: Just reduced the contrast on that photo, yes looks normal now. Pictures can deceive. |
| Talked to the Geissele shop and the guys were super helpful. They told me to clean it and If I wasn't satisfied they would replace it. I'm going to spray it down with some WD-40, clean it, leave a light coat of oil on everything like they said and just keep my eyes on it. If it returns I'll send it back. Customer service couldn't have been better. |

| I use "Fluid Film" to coat my parts being a non-toxic, solvent free lubricant that is lanolin based. It also doesn't evaporate, it doesn't freeze, and it is thixotropic. It's an old, old-school lubricant and protectant from the 1940's that was made for US Naval Warships during WWII to coat their bilges. |
