I have build 3 AR lowers so far, the last one I rebuild has a loose trigger. Meaning: There is a slight sloppy spot when you pull the trigger, just before the hammer is re least. I took it apart and found nothing. I order two of the same kits "PSA STR Lower Build Kit - Black" one works just fine and the other is sloppy. please help.
Thanks, Jeff |

Hi Jeff, I will be glad to assist you. If you do not own a dial micrometer then buy one even if it's a cheap one. That way you could determine the exact diameter of key components such as trigger pins, takedown pins, etc. Precise measurements make it easier for those in the know to help. Nowadays with numerous manufacturers come numerous dimensions so a few thousandths of an inch can make a difference. I.E. The average trigger pin should be .154" diameter. I have came across new pins that measure .150" and if assembled that means .008" worth of slop. Also hammer spring tension can cause a difference. Cock the hammer and run a nylon cable tie through the trigger guard and pull the hammer as tight as it will go. After a couple of weeks or more the spring will relax slightly and the pull should improve providing everything else was setup correct.
One other bit of friendly advice...You need to keep a dictionary beside your computer and perform a spell-check prior to posting. I'm sure you are a very bright individual but with your writing skills most any liberal will walk all over you in a debate forum. Just like you want your build to be correct as possible you should want your words to be correct as possible. All you have to do to see how well armed liberals are with words is to listen to them speak and read the bills they concoct to limit your freedom. In the arena of politics and firearms words are your ammunition so do the best you can and keep at it. |
