I'm trying to drop a Timney 4.0lb trigger into my Spike's Tactical lower and after tightening the Timney hex screws as much as they can, the trigger group pins are still loose.  With the rifle cocked, they are pretty tight (though not tight enough to trust them not to work themselves out).  With the hammer decocked, the screws are still as loose as they are without the hex pins in at all and freely fall out.  Anyone have any experience with anything like this, or any other drop in trigger doing anything like this?!  Thanks in advance all!  This forum has been killer in getting my first rifle built and after I fix this one last issue, I'll be done!

Check the Fire Control Pocket depth it should be about 1.249" (+/- .010"), otherwise, you can also use shims to get a better/tighter fit so your pins
won't move out of place...While I have a Timney and generally like them, I do prefer the CMC dope-in version, as they come with C-clips so the
pins won't come out even if you don't have a perfect fit...You can also try the KNS pin kit, although I'm not 100% sure it will work together with
the Timney set-up, I would have to check it out...Hopefully the lower or the trigger is not out of spec...Good luck.

There are 2 sets of sets screws in each hole on the Timney- one screw sets the trigger in place then the second locks the bottom screw in place. Are both screws in the trigger and your tightening one against the other?

KNS pins will work with the Timney and Spike's sells a NICE set that they have the trigger and hammer pin melonited

Hmm, I only received two hex screws in my setup, perhaps I'm missing something and that is what's keeping me from getting these snug.  I'll Email Timney and see what they say.  Thanks.  Shimming it isn't a bad second option though, thanks everyone.

You have to back out and remove the top screws, install the trigger and pins, crank down the bottom screws then install the top screws to lock everything in place.

There are screws already installed in the trigger when you remove it from the package. The two in the bag with allen wrench are used to lock those down.
