| Went to the local gun store just bought a stripped RRA lower. About to order the PSA LPK w/ p mags. What else do I need? As far as uppers what's a quality one for a decent price? |
|
Think you already answered your own question, if you haven't finalized the PSA order yet. I'd just add a buffer tube, spring, buffer, stock, one of there built uppers, and sights/optic.. Kind of a one stop shop, only one shipping charge.. Just be patient, PSA orders with uppers take time, worth the wait quality to price wise though.

I have not put the order through yet but which upper is the question there is a couple they do have instock. I am in no rush to build this. I am just trying to find what will fit me best. I would like to shoot the gun at some decent distances once it put together. |

PSA SS15G2 Premium 20" 5.56mm 1:7 Rifle Length A2 Profile - Without BCG or Charging Handle
and 68 Gr.+ ammo and a good optic will get you out to about as far as a 5.56 is good for. |
|
If you aren't in a hurry maybe wait for one of PSA's rifle kit deals to come back in stock (includes everything but the lower/LPK and an optic/sight), or wait for one of AIMsurplus' complete uppers to come back in stock. I didn't want to wait, and had specific items I wanted to use, so I just pieced everything together. Good luck!

| You need a extension (the tube), castle nut and latch plate. If you got a mil spec Magpul stock you need a mil spec extension, if you got a commercial stock, get a commercial tube. Not sure what Magpul stocks if any work on both. Some Magpul stocks may be universal with the tensioner, someone will have to chime in on that. |

I picked up the lower receiver a couple minutes ago along with a magpul ctr stock. My question is I never bought the stock kit. What parts do I need and will any companies stock parts work with magpul? Your receiver extension (aka buffer tube) is based on if you bought a mil-spec or commercial deminsion's stock. Also you have 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 buffer tubes; I personally went with a 7075-T6 receiver extension being my receivers are also 7075-T6, and it is also a little bit stronger type of aluminum. |

You guys are awesome thank you for such quick responses! It is a mil-spec stock. So I'm looking for the buffer tube, latch plate and castle nut is all I need? |

Perfect thank you! PSA sells a mil-spec kit which I will end up ordering once I find an upper that's instock. RedXArms should still have their uppers in stock, $68 shipped, and ship usually next day (all three of my orders have shipped next day this week) |

I got my PSA upper in yesterday and I noticed there are these white spots on it. I tried to wipe it off but it didn't come off. Is this normal? http://i706.photobucket.com/albums/ww65/13RIZZ/image_zpsd51fb3ab.jpg Yikes that is rough, even PSA blems are nowhere near that. Did you try a solvent? If it wont come off at all send that shit back for a replacement. |

What all you'll need will be covered in the Technical Manual; which I I'd go over of your building an AR15.
