+1  Federal law prohibits shipping firearms to individual mean, you cant buy a gun/receiver and have it shipped to your house, must be shipped to an FFL....not worth time in jail honestly.

That's sketchy, I don't see how he can be doing that. It will catch up to him eventually

The OP  is from the UK and their laws are different than here in the U.S. so he would have to check his country's firearms laws.

NO, I am not going to order one. Just thought it rather strange. Apparently they are made in the UK but shipped from China.

This seems very dodgy to me. The UK is very strict on gun parts and this would require a UK Firearms Certificate if you tried to buy one. Same for barrels, firing pins, hammers etc etc

Says they ship anywhere in the world for $290. I would imagine they get stuck in Customs and when you pick it up.................Hello Jail big time.

I contacted them yesterday and they are made from aluminium 6061T6.

Thought they may have been polymer.

They said it is sent out in a certain type of packaging. Whatever that means.

It's a I bet jail is part of that "special" package and/or its a scam

Where does it say they are sent directly to your home?

I sent them an email.

The strange thing is there website domain/ip is in Tulsa, USA. They are made in UK, Sent via China.

Person I got a reply from didn't sound she was from China though, her name was Lisa.

All very strange.

Are they allowed to-do stings over there trying to catch someone buying one ?

Isn't that classed as entrapment or something ?

What are the ATF going to-do when 3D printers that use metal powder become as cheap as home computers ?, they think in 5 years time they will be around $1,800.

I guess they will have to make the barrel or some other part (like Europe does) the bit that requires the license or NICS background check.

Or I guess they could ban the metal powder or heavily restrict it.

Maybe because of the 3D printer technology they will just ban all AR15/10s or anything that has a split receiver.

In the receiver description is says they are 80%. Also says US buyers may need an ffl/import license.

Well, looking at the picture on their website I would say that it is far more than an 80% receiver.

I doubt 3D printers will have much of an impact. People already make homemade Ar-15's with 80% receivers.
If I had the knowledge and tools, I could legally build a firearm (except full-auto) in my garage tonight without any repercussions.

The knowledge and tools are easy to come by, all I did was watch videos on youtube, look at some diagrams and ask questions at a gun store or gunsmith. As far as the site with the receiver I'll bet the ATF would wanna know about them.

They are selling 100% lower receiver. It says 80% but look at the pictures, everything has been machined/drilled out, mag well, fire control group, holes etc.

Why else would they charge $290 for an 80% lower shipped free worldwide and who would pay that ?

I doubt the ATF can do anything apart from trying to detect them at customs as they are sent via China.

Reminds me of all us in the UK buying cheap cigs from other EU countries. Some arrive at your home ok and some don't. Depends how good customs are at detecting them.

With regard to 3D printing.

At the moment it takes around 48 hours to print a polymer lower and they tend to fail allot after 40 rounds. There are metal powder 3D printers which will print a lower in around 72 hours but they currently cost around $60,000. All the machining/holes etc is done.

Give it 5 years and those machines will cost $1500 and print in around 20 minutes. Assuming you can get hold of the aluminium powder.

NO, It clearly says they are 80% complete...Although they show completed receivers pics.

If you order it on your own its not entrapment, kind of like when they do stings for prostitution
