I am having some problems with a LPK i bought from Palmetto State Armory.

First problem is, i installed the trigger and function checked it. When i hold the trigger and push the hammer back the sear will not engage the hammer unless i allow the trigger to move forward. This is not acceptable is it? Wouldn't this cause trigger slap like some AK's have?

The second problem is the mag catch. When installed i tried to insert a mag and it took noticeable more effort to get the mag past the catch. After inspecting it it looks like the catch was canted a bit and the mag release button fits loose in the hole. So i removed it and installed a Daniel Defense catch off another gun i have. This completely cured the problem. I put a micrometer on the PSA mag button and it was 0.002" narrower than the Daniel Defense button.

Is PSA really this low of quality i thought they had pretty decent stuff?

I had a problem with a psa lpk once out of many orders. I messaged them and they very quickly fixed the problem!

Regarding the the trigger reset - Did you have the safety lever installed or not? You MUST have the safety lever installed for the function check to work properly. I had a similar concern after my first lower setup. Following the guide here from ARFCOM, there is no mention of installing the safety lever after setting up the trigger and hammer. I had the exact same problem. It seems the safety prevents the trigger from rotating forward so far that it becomes impossible to get the hammer past the disconnector. With the safety installed it worked fine.

Try not to feel too bad. I did the exact same thing on my first build.

That was the problem the trigger works fine now. The mag button i can probbaly deal with till i can upgrade it or find a slightly wider button to take some of the slop out.
