This is mine IMO I almost think a round aperture would be easier

Are those Troy's?  My V lines up perfectly for quick acquisition.  This is my only set of dioptics.  My other rifles are round same plane.  I like and will definetly use them again on rifles for me.

The pic I posted is Troy do optic  w/ the Troy m4 front folding. It does line up pretty well it takes some getting used to. A round rear aperture is naturally easier for the eye to focus through for me. In part I assume its because I've been trained with that mostly. The do optic is great w decent lighting but in low light I personally feel it does not appear refined enough or In focus enough. It gets easier each time I handle the weapon but again it all depends on you.

This rear BUIS, is it elevation adjustable or just windage? I have a Matech rear BUIS on one of my carbines and I'm kind of disappointed with it. While shooting with a redot, the Matech keeps popping up on its own.

So I was looking into one of those Troy sights and I'm surprised to read you guys don't like them.

That Troy Di-optic is a useless abomination.  For absolute speed go with a Troy rear sight but replace the rear blade with the XS Sight Systems CSAT blade for Troy sights.

IN YOUR HUMBLE OPINION. I know several people that like it including me.  We all like different things.  Use what you.  Useless abomination is a bit strong.

Nope.  Not humble.  Sticking with useless abomination.  If you like it, good.  Not a good choice for a newer shooter looking for fast.

Definitely not humble.  Definitely opinioned and DEFINITELY WRONG since we're gonna play the I'm righter than you p'ing contest.  Whatever though inflexible are entitle to their opinion.

If that sight is right for you then I am happy for you.  I maintain that it is a poor choice for a fast sight.  In a perfect world Troy would let you buy the di-optic blade for a few bucks and then a person could try the standard blade, the di-optic blade and the XS blade and then decide on a favorite. Troy won't do that and $100 seems a pretty steep price to pay to find out what most people do.  That the points on that rear sight tend to distort the shape of the inner circle when used for anything but bench rest use.

This whole thread is moot anyway because a fighting carbine should have an Aimpoint on it and the irons should just be for backup.  The only rifles I own that I concern myself about iron sights on are retro rifles.

Buy a quality set of backup irons, mount them, sight them in, fold them down, mount an Aimpoint and drive on.

Well I respect your right to enjoy the aim point.  And while I do not have anything bad to say about them I disagree with you here also.  I prefer eotech.  We all like different things.  That's the great thing about America, we are allowed.  You reference fighting carbines, what kind of operator are you?   Military, LEO, merc?  Just curious?

Calling me an operator would be going way overboard.  My military experience is probably from too long ago to be of any real relevance here.  Sorry to have excluded the Eotech.  I have two of them and much prefer their reticle to the Aimpoint dot.  My Eotechs both suffer from less than ideal battery life so they don't see the use that my Aimpoint micros see.

these debates remind me why they make different color cars.   get a flip up of your choice,  if you dont like it move on.  if you cant afford to make a mistake and chose a sight that is wrong, dont build

Just windage. The notched long range rear tends to force slight elevation that compensates for height over bore inside 25m but not very fast target acquisition. As I stated earlier if familiar or new to the AR standard platform a round rear BUIS like TROY has may suit you better
