Any reason not to use an upper receiver with M4 feed ramps? I'm working on my first build so I'm learning as I go.

From what I understand, the main difference is the M4 feed ramps that help guide the rounds into the barrel.
You can have the ramps on the barrel extension and the receiver or on the barrel but not the receiver. But NEVER on the receiver but not the barrel extension.
The ramps come into play mainly for full auto. In semi, not so much unless you run a bump-fire stock.
I think most barrel extensions come with them. More receivers are.

I could be wrong or lacking some other info, too.

Crap, I just checked my receiver/barrel assembly...M4 rec/regular barrel...
Looks like it's dremel time...

Nah, just get a rifle upper for your barrel.
Use the M4 upper for your next build.

Ya gotta plan, dude.
