I mean someone will come in and say some outrageous claim about "X" LPK, but I have always liked a CMMG, PSA, kit with no fire control and then put in a ALG-QMS Trigger Group. thanks I have heard about the ALG is that a normal reset not 2 stage right? my RRA has a 2 stage it feels pretty damn nice. |

The ALG Defense Quality Mil-Spec (QMS) Trigger is designed for those shooters where tradition, value and regulatory concerns are of primary importance. The pull of the QMS is very similar to a standard mil-spec trigger, however the majority of the associated grittiness of the stock trigger pull has been removed while the well known reliability of a stock trigger remains. The pull weight is not lower than the M4/M16 minimum weight specification of 5.5lbs. **Tuned by Geissele Automatics** Features Performance Advantages for the Shooter: The ALG Defense QMS trigger pull is smoother and sharper than a stock trigger. This is accomplished by honing the sear surfaces smooth while not removing metal below the valleys of the stock surface finish. Sear geometry has not been changed from the standard profile so the high reliability that the stock trigger is known for is unchanged. Trigger and hammer are made from true 8620 alloy steel military specification castings, correctly carburized, quenched and tempered for high surface hardness. Disconnector is 1070 High Carbon steel properly Austempered into the spring range of hardness. Springs are corrosion resistant and meet military specifications. A full force hammer spring is used for positive ignition of all type of ammunition. Trigger and hammer pins are improved over stock mild steel by using 4140 Chrome-Moly steel that has been quenched and tempered. Pins are centerless ground to a fine finish and a diameter 0.001” larger than stock to reduce play in the trigger assembly while retaining a slip fit into the weapon lower receiver. Both pins are Nickel-Teflon coated. Pull weight is above the U.S. Military minimum pull weight of 5.5lbs but does not reach near the upper limit of 9.5lbs. Generally, the pull weight is about 6.5lbs. Advantages for the Armorer: The ALG Defense QMS trigger is an enhanced standard trigger so maintenance and installation procedures are unchanged. There is spare parts commonality between the QMS and stock triggers Trigger assembly parts may be interchanged between triggers, there are no matched sets. Since it is a trigger meeting the U.S. Military trigger specifications for the M4 Carbine, the ALG Defense QMS can be substituted for lower performing stock triggers while still staying in compliance with Unit or Departmental requirements |

I have heard those are fantastic triggers. very pricey though. have you heard anything on the spikes enhanced LPK. I wonder if that would be ok use. im just a go every once in while plinker I don't run any carbine classes but I do like good accuracy and good quality stuff. |

I finaly managed to snag a mega from Rainer as well. I'm not a fan of light triggers or two stage triggers but that's just a me thing. I have the Spikes enhanced LPK kit in my precision build and I like it. I tweaked all my triggers in my AR's a tad so its hard to tell a bigg diffence now. When I first got it I thought it was a noticeable difference and did an ohhhh, I like it. I also wouldn't call mine anywhere near broken in yet either. I have more rounds thorough my other AR's since tweaking em so not apples apples to apples in the comparison range for how it will be broke in. I wouldn't hesitate to get another Spikes enhanced Lpk kit but for now I have to wait till mama calms down about the new lower on its way. She's lucky the billet was gone before I could click on it;) instead.
Either way sounds like some interesting new options since the last time I built one for one to consider. Having built a spikes lower and off their Billet set, plus lots of their parts too for those and other AR's. I can say their CS is outstanding. One of those companies that will stand behind their product which is nice piece of mind. I paid what was premium pricing way back before all this panic to get one the most popular lpk kits back then and had a simple stupid issue with a part being out of spec. I couldn't even get them to respond to emails or voicemails about it. If it didn't cost 35 Ish more then rest I wouldn't have cared but it was the principal on paying a premium. I had to order something from spikes and mentioned I was having issue with whatever it was and they said don't worry about it one will be in the package and some other goodies. . Thanks for being customer. Always fun building an AR and deciding what to use. Enjoy. |
