Has anyone built a PSA kit rifle ? Opinions, results, satisfaction overall? Thanks |

I have read some talk on another thread about the bolt being 8620 steel, atleast in this one http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/16-hammer-forged-m4a1-blackhawk-rifle-kit.html .I am not sure if that is the biggest deal vs a bolt made from 158 steel like this one http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/featured/5-56mm-full-auto-profile-bolt-carrier-group.html. I don't have to awful much experience or knowledge about the differences, but if it matters to you then just be aware. It is convenient to make one purchase (minus the lower) to get everything needed for a complete rifle though... |

Yes it is very convenient to just order all the parts at the same time.
Looking for bargains is fine, but shipping can make it costly to order piece by piece. Palmetto seems to have the kits fairly regularly, and their prices usually beat the other suppliers. So a kit seems like a way to go if the contents of the kit are all of good quality. |
I haven't bought just the rifle kit like this one here,http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/16-hammer-forged-mid-length-rifle-kit.htmlbut I have assembled a PSA rifle from complete upper, classic lower build kit, BCG w/charging handle and stripped lower. The build turned out great in my opinion granted all I did was assembly the lower I have used PSA lower parts kits in other builds without problems. If I was going to build another rifle of this type and the kit fit the bill I think it is a convenient way to order everything at once and add lower.
