I don't have any personal experience with any manufacturer sending out slop, but I do stick with companies that I have grown to trust to hold their product to tight tolerances (again, just my personal experience), so I use either BCM or VLTOR.

I use BCM they are great quality and the little star is awesome, but besides the looks, the quality is top notch and i never hesitate when buying a BCM part.

Don't waste your money on expensive gas blocks, they all perform the same function and will operate the same.  I usually use YHM, this one to be exact.  But I have used others as well and have had no problems in over 15 builds.  Just my 2 cents.

Whenever I use a FF hand guard. Obviously I use a low pro gas block. That being said. If I'm doing that, I'll also use an adjustable gas block. I use both PRI, and JP. Both are quality products.
I like the adjustable blocks. As they let me tune in the rifle with the other components, I have selected.

Daniel defense clamp style.  That's the only one I will ever use.
