Okay, I admit it. I'm flummoxed...
I'm trying to remove the gas block from the barrel of my wife's AR, and the pins simply WILL NOT BUDGE. I've removed this thing before, and for the life of me I can't figure out why it's giving me such a hard time now. Any ideas? Just how much whamming can this thing take? I don't feel like joining WECSOG over this... Thanks.

Thanks. ![]() Soak with degreaser and use a big punch and a decent size hammer to break lose then finish with correct size punch If you mushroom the ends of the taper pins might want to take a dremel or drill to it very carefully |

You could also try applying a little heat with a heat-gun. That should expand things a bit and may help. This^^^^ get / borrow paint stripping heat gun. apply to the gas block which will expand the metal enough to allow it to slip off with a little prodding. Too much force applied may result in damage or scoring . |

Just make sure you are trying to beat them in the right direction if they are taper pins, you pound them out from the narrower side. Its still going to be hard. Mine were straight pins and I soaked them in PB blaster overnight and still...
