Hey guys!
What would be a high end stripped lower? I want something 'high end' because I plan on registering it as a SBR and want to be sure to get something that isn't likely to be out of spec in anyway. I know most lowers are all in spec... but what would you guys recommend for me? Also, I know lots of stuff is out of stock... I'm fine waiting... I'll get it when I get it. Was considering JD Machine Tech... from San Diego... they any good? |

If you get a forged lower from any reputable dealer you should be GTG with regard to being in spec.
You may want to look around for a cool roll mark (logo) you like but I wouldn't worry too much about being in spec if you get a forged lower, especially if you find the lower in the "In Stock Lower" thread on this site. Believe it or not....none of us want an out of spec lower....even for our regular rifles. Find something from "In Stock Lower" and you should be GTG. Good luck! |
| i have a Mega forged upper and lower build im in the process of doing now.. i have searched high and low read all types of threads from members and came to the conclusion that any reputable lower and upper will work . what would your prefrence be that is entirely up to you Seekins is readily available just visit their facebook page and get updates Mega Noveske JP and a few other name brands might b a little harder to find and/or a little over priced at the time. also BCG are starting to pop up here and ther altho a little pricey for some |

For sbr,
I recommend checking the lower out fully... Build it as a 16" and run it and test it... Then file sbr papers... When they come back, you can take that upper and put it on a new build and put your sbr upper on the tested and found true lower... The last batch of spikes I had two that needed some serious work to get them right...out of a dozen... So, evn the "gtg" mfg's screw the pooch sometimes... Bret |
