So I just got my giesselle ssa-e. My question is are the enhanced trigger guards stronger? Or are they mainly just bigger so you can get your finger through with gloves on? Will the factory rra trigger guard from their lpk be as strong as a new enhanced trigger guard? What are your favorites as far as replacement trigger guards?

The magpuls are polymer. They are lighter and allow more room.

If you want an aluminum and stronger one look at the spikes trigger guard. That is a stout piece, also allows for more room but is not lighter by any means.

I went with the Troy TG because I like the rounded curve and because it retains the pushbutton swing-down feature of the stock TG. Some want a TG that fills in the gap between the TG and the pistol grip, but that's never bothered me.

An aluminum enhanced trigger guard is much thicker and stronger.

Recommendations:  Seekins Precision, Magpul's aluminum TG, Core 15 has a couple versions that they send with their part kits.

$25 for a troy doesnt seem bad. Amazon has the magpul enhanced for $17. Then add shipping to both. Seems like $30 extra would be worth it to protect a $230 trigger? This is my first build and I have yet to skimp on quality. I guess I may have to order one.

I love my Spikes but also vote Magpul Enhanced TG.  Phase 5 Tactical has a radical design on their Winter Trigger Guard....

Troy guard for me, its alot more comftorable than the magpul one since it has the rolled lips on the sides and its wider.

The trigger guard is not there to protect your trigger.  It's there to prevent accidental trigger pull by bumps or snags etc.  Any trigger guard on the market is "strong enough".  Plus, polymer is less apt to break than aluminum.

Personal taste.
That being said the Seekins billet is awesome

Knights Armament for mine. It's pretty cool and different looking.

Nobody mentioned that the Magpul guards also hide the gap behind the guard.

I've used flexible plastic guards, aluminum standard guards, and now I have a magpul trigger guard and the magpul enhanced.  I only wish the enhanced came with the logo on the bottom.  It's plain vanilla.
