3 1/4" inches, that is from tip to the end of the firing pin head.

Any idea what it should measure down to thousands of an inch? I'm comparing three different pins I have, all of which vary slightly.Seems they average about 3.275,but I'm wondering if anyone has what they should spec to.Thanks!!

well so technically its 3.25" and you are 3.275 if you are using calipers that difference could be from mis calibration, the pressure from holding it, etc.... It seems like you are right on the money.

Ok,thanks...I'm an A&P (aircraft)mechanic by trade,so I'm used to using calipers and taking precision measurements,I just didn't know what the danged things should actually measure!!I guess I will go with what you said, that I'm GTG.Thanks,I 'preciate it !!

Yeah I mean .026 thousandths difference is probably just from manufacturer to manufacturer. No problem on the help, I had to ask about the calipers though because I have seen people who really don't know how to use them before, not faulting them at all just didn't know you were well versed in using them.
