Hey guys

I just picked up a barrel it's a er shaw 1/9 HC 16" ... Now i need a hand guard. My barrel only came with a2 front sights and a barrel nut. What else do i need other then the gas tube to install a quad rail?

Thanks In advance.

Does it have a retaining ring behind the a2 sight?  You will utilize this if you are using a drop in rail as well as s delta ring assembly.

If you are planning on using a free float rail the retaining ring and delta assembly will not be necessary.

DP is right.
Free float-you can use a free float quad rail that accomadate the fixed sight. Some would be a one piece so the gas block/sight would have to come off.
There are some two piece units out there thst wouldnt require removal of gas block/sight.

Non free float- this will require a delta ring for the barrel nut and an end cap behind th sight. Your hg is held in by the endcap and delta ring.

You can get 2 piece quads that will drop in. Midwest Industries is a good economical choice.

My choice is the Vltor CASV. You need the delta ring only for this. It attache to the delta ring and the top rail of the upper. Its not a quad but they come with rail sections to customize. I like it a lot. I used to be a quad rail only guy till I actually started using them regularly.

They can be rough on the hands and with the Vltor you dont need to buy a bunch of rail covers.

My 2 cents and hope it helps
