I currently own a DD M4V5.  I sent in my Form 1 in December to register the lower.  Now I am planning the build for the SBR upper.  It will be a 10.3" DD barrel with a 9" DD MFR.  My plan is to build up a PSA lower I have and swap over the upper from the M4V5 to it as a second rifle for my wife.  The SBR will be my primary.

I bought an Aero stripped upper for the SBR.  But I notice that the finish does not match the DD lower very well.  It does match the PSA lower, though, quite well.

So here is the question.  Would you disassemble the upper from the M4V5 and build the SBR from the DD upper instead of using the Aero?  I know I am being a little anal, but I would prefer the finish to match.  Plus I get a little more experience building.

What say you (flame suit on, just in case)?

TL;DR

Kidding.  Yes, if you want the finish to match, use the DD upper. Or cerakote the whole thing whatever color and use the Aero....

I would use the Aero Precision upper with the DD lower.  Swapping the uppers won't solve and real problems and may end up creating new ones.  You'll forget what color it is once you start shooting.

You answered your own question, who cares what we think

Yep, swap it out. It will keep the SBR all DD. Not a necessary thing but what the hell.

Thanks for the replies.'

Snoozed, just looking for input.  I know the ultimate decision is mine.

I think I am going to go ahead and do the upper swap.  At the very least I get more build experience.
