Hey guys, I've got a Bushmaster Dissipator (complete) and a generic AR carbine upper that I just built a lower for. I'd like to convert the Dissipator upper with a mid-length Magpul handguard, but I'm a little nervous about getting in over my head. I understand the Dissipator has a carbine-length gas system, so I would like to move the front sight back to butt up against the handguard.

My questions are, 1) is this a pretty simple mod? 2) does it require doing anything with the gas system?

It appears on initial inspection that I the new handguard just snaps on into the Delta ring, but there's currently nothing to secure the front unless I move the sight back about 3 inches. I've got punches, so I'm not too worried about taking the FSB off, but I guess I'm worried about what I'll find underneath. :)  I'm assuming I won't be messing with the gas block, but I just want some reassurance.

TIA,
JJ
