Trying to order a lower so I can build my first AR 15. I have two orders in, but lead times for DS Arms is 3 to 4 months, and for Superior Arms is 6 months. I gotta hope Feinbooger (Feinstein) goes down in flames, or else I'll have to pony up more cash for what's available right now.
Any suggestions on sourcing a reasonably priced lower would be appreciated. |
| Welcome on board. Even though it's not exactly the best time to start a new build, you just have to be patient. Everyone understands the value of having part in-hand before any new laws are passed for grandfathering purposes. So if you want to get a hold of a stripped lower without the lead time, you just have to scour EE lower receiver and look for one that's reasonably price--which is going to run about $275 to $300 for a good quality lower. I've seen some gently used lowers in the low $200's, if you're not picky about lower markings ect. It's really hard to go wrong with lowers these days because everyone is using CNC technology to mill out their lowers or have one of the big four do it for them. Everything else you need to complete your build other than the serialized lower will be available and can be purchased after any ban that kicks in. There will be people selling what they bought during this hysteria, so I would expect price of BCG to come down once hysteria is over and manufacturers are caught up with back orders. Best of luck! |

@GAFinch
Right now the Anti gun democratic machine in Chicago has it's hands full trying to overturn an Illinois court decision that declared the ban on concealed carry unconstitutional and gave the state legislature 180 days to enact a concealed carry law. I live in downstate Illinois where the mentality on guns is very different from that of Chicago. I'm proud to say that both my state representative and my state senator are co-sponsors of the house bill and the senate bill that will make CCW legal in Illinois. "bout time we caught up with the rest of the country. I ordered a New Frontier polymer AR 15 stripped lower from Louisville Firearms ($110) today. Jerry told me out of 1,000 that they originally had in inventory, he had about 75 left and mine will ship either tomorrow, or Friday As far as I'm concerned a poly in hand is worth 2 alloys on back order. |

You can find stripped lowers from 131.00 up to 225.00 and more.
They come and go in stock without being gouged. If you go to EE or gunbroker expect to pay double for nothing. Lowers are coming back into stock and at decent prices. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_4/603477_THE_IN_STOCK_LOWER_RECEIVER_THREAD_Part_2.html |
