I have a Jewell trigger in a Remington 700 that is set to 1.5lbs and I love it for long range precision shooting.
My question is.... For my precision AR is a Jewell trigger going to be comparable to their Remington models? Would I be better off with a different brand such as a Giessle?

Giessle SSA serious or the SD-3G would be my choice.

I love my Giessle SSA-E.  it has proven to be an incredibly reliable trigger with a phenomenal pull.

Geissele.

Giessle SSA for carbine work or a Giessle HiSpeed, either a DMR or Target, for something more like your 700. The END being a heavier pull than the Target.

Geisselle SSA is what I use in my Grendel's lower. Love it!!

I was leaning towards the Geissle SSA thanks guys. I might actually try the enhanced version for a little bit lighter pull because this rifle will be used strictly for precision longer range shooting no running around.

I remember that Jewell was all the rage a few years ago, but now many people are talking Giselle.  It's up to you to decide which one though.  They have several to choose from.

Was just going to say to be closer to your bolt gun the SSA-E is the same as SSA with a lower pull weight

I am running two different ARs  with 3lb Timney triggers and they are just about perfect.

I run JP enterprises triggers in all of my AR's

Glass break sharp, no creep, never moved.

I'll stay with JP for all my trigger needs.

If this is for a precision AR then the only choice is the Geissele High Speed National Match.  The SSA and SSA-E are great carbine triggers but pale in comparison to the High Speed series of triggers.

I've tried many different triggers, and have settled with the JP

Not that the others were bad, just that the JP is better!

I just put an Geissele SSA-E in mine, I really like it, it is incredibly well made and breaks very nicely.  That being said, it is still an AR trigger, it's a great one, but it is not like the Jewell in my 700.  I looked hard at the jewell but heard reviews that weren't as positive as their 700 trigger.  If you are looking for a strictly range gun the Geissele hi-speed national match match rifle trigger would be a solid choice.

No love for Timney?

I love the look of the skeletonized triggers....but of course it has to function before looking good.

Geissele is the trigger of the week.

There's a trigger comparison thread here somewhere.

I've got a JP in one rifle and a Wilson TTU in another. Both are single-stage. Hard to tell the difference. The Wilson is more expensive, but its a true "drop-in" modular trigger assembly. I'd probably go with it again if I needed one right now. I've never used a Geissele, so I can't speak to that. I would like to try one.

No.  Geissele is the best two stage trigger available.  It has been for years and will be for years to come.  When durability is factored in no other trigger is even in the same zip code.

Would you not recommend the Geissele hi-speed national match match for a hunting rifle as well? I'm buying it for a lower that will see most of its use target shooting but if I could I would like to use that lower and trigger on my hunting uppers as well. I currently have a JP trigger in my hunting rig and personally I am not impressed with it at all for the price.

The high speed DMR trigger would probably be best for all-around use.  The high speed match trigger would be best for bench and target use.  The only difference in the two is pull weight.  Both the first and second stage of the pull is heavier with the DMR.  Geissele's web sight does an excellent job explaining the differences in all of their triggers.

I should've said: "Geissele is the trigger of the week on ARFCOM."

I'm not saying they are bad triggers, but the reason everyone is saying Geissele is because they are ARFCOM's current favorite.  Before them it was Timney, before Timney it was RRA 2-stage NM.

I've put about 20 rounds through a rifle with a Geissele and I couldn't tell a lot of difference from a RRA 2-stage NM.  For my purposes, mainly hunting and target shooting, I like single stage triggers with a light pull.  The CMC 3ish lb trigger fills that niche nicely.

I put the SSA-E in mine because I wanted a "bolt gun" trigger. I have been pleased. Its well worth the cash

What about the AR Gold trigger?

Supposed to be top tier yet, I don't see many talking about it.
