Since I am new to AR's could someone shed some light.
I just got a YM NM M16 BCG
It is not staked since it came directly from YM.
I see that almost every other vendor that sell YM BCG's stakes them.
Yet YM says it voids their warranty if you stake the gas key.
Yes I have read why YM doesnt stake the key themselves.

Has anyone put alot of rounds down the pipe with one that is unstaked?
How about using one in a fully auto?

With every other BCG manufacturer staking it makes a noob wonder to leave it as it came or get it staked????

Put some paint marks on your socket head screws, fire a bunch of rounds down range and see if it walks.

I got one as well and had that concern.  But I read little up on it, and I believe the owner is an aerospace engineer.  I figure he pry knows better than me, so I'm just gonna put some witness marks on it and roll with it.

I think I would trust YM, but if you're really concerned don't use paint, but use torque seal instead.  It's use on aircraft to detect parts that are loosening and should be perfect for this:

Red color. Torque Seal is an inexpensive method to detect warranty tampering; and vibration loosening. Used in production on compression fittings, studs, nuts, parts, and assemblies after they are in proper torque or position. Inspectors can visually detect any movement or tampering.
