Sorry for the newbie question but i dont want to spend my money or parts that dont fit together.

Im looking at purchasing a 18" barrel for my build. Which length forearm do I use? The barrel has a mid length gas port and I would like to cover it with the forearm but I dont want it all the way to the end of the barrel.
