I just finished a build with a PSA A2 stock kit and there is a slight wobble around the axis of the buffer tube - very slight but noticeable.   Another area of concern is the upper to lower  - again a very slight but noticeable wobble.  The lower is a CMMG and the upper is from Primary Arms.

So how much wobble is acceptable?

Thanks,

upper/lower is normal.  I take a second look at the stock.

^^ seconded

The A2 stock to the lower should be pretty tight. Confirm that the receiver extension is turned in all the way, and confirm the screw holding the stock to the receiver extension is secured properly

unscrew the bolt and remove the thread locker..then tighten

I've already removed the thread locker and verified the stock screw is fully tightened against the buffer tube spacer into the buffer tube.  So there is no slop axially (front to back) only a little side to side movement around the buffer tube where the stock/receiver meet.

if you take off the stock with the screw that holds the stock to the buffer, slap the lower in a vice and tighten the receiver extension with a wrench then reassemble, that should remove the play from the buffer/receiver joint

The buffer tube if fully torqued to the lower receiver, the wobble is the stock around the buffer tube.

+1 to this.  The rifle-length receiver extension has a pair of wrench flats on its rear end for tightening into the receiver itself.  Personally, I prefer to put a few drops of blue Loctite on those threads before tightening.  After its nice and snug, with maybe 10 lbs or so of torque, then slip the A2 buttstock over the tube and secure it with the proper bolt, again with a couple drops of blue Loctite.  As for the wobble between the upper and lower, just place a plastic Accuwedge inside the lower, under the rear push pin. With the Accuwedge in place, you have to push down on the upper before securing the rear push pin, but once that's done, no more looseness. good luck - CW

look for any flashing/mold marks on the stock where it meets the receiver.  I had to trim some material off the bottom/inside of the buttplate on one build because it was binding on the spacer
