Decided to give the cap screw method a try on my trigger guard.
I like it. Plus, no worry of accidentally breaking a tab.
3 M5 cap screws are needed, plus a 4 mm course tap to enlarge the holes in the mounting tabs.

I've never feared breaking a tab, just takes a second to support the bottom side, and the trigger guard supports the top

I did the same with my recent build as well. It definitely looks more finished. I used button screws and threaded brass inserts. Two second with a drill on the trigger guard, stick the inserts, and screw it on the rifle, to easy and no worry about breaking an ear off.
