I've always been then type that will not pay a premium for something I can do myself but I also will not buy an inferior product just to save money.  The old saying goes..."You can't figure your time",  well this is where I figure it.  Over the years I've determined that my time is worth something and as long as I'm using it to build/make/fix whatever,  I'll be damned if I'm going to waste my money on something that's going to require me to waste MORE time on another build/make/fix.  I've been hunting for seriously for 21 years now and I've spent enough days afield to know that there are certain products made by certain comapies that I will pay more for just because I know I won't have to replace them in the next xxx years.

I've had a couple builds under my belt but I will be the first to admit that I am VERY new to the this style of gun  Building my first AR I spent hours upon hours(I won't figure that in) just researching what products were worth a damn.  To this day I can tell you the "Named Brands" and I've stumbled across a few companies that I've found to be honest accompanied with selling a great product.  But,  with the number of companies that are selling AR products I feel as if a new guys is almost required to learn the hard way with some products.  There is just soooo damn many out there.

Hopefully this will be usefull to someone else that is new to the builds.   I'd like to hear what companies that you would pick up a product and TAKE THEM TO BATTLE.  The ones you trust.

PLEASE DO NOT STOMP ON ANOTHER POSTER JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T AGREE. This isn't debate,  and I'm sure there are a few non-named brand companies out there that are worth their weight in freedom.

Bushmaster, Colt, Windham, Armalite, Rock River, LaRue, there are probably about a dozen more.

Well,

I'd like to +1 that list.

I'd like to add the trijicon products and surefire as well...

I have several ta31f-rmr's and night sights on glocks...

And several x400 and x300 weapon lights and lasers...

I do have some tlr2's but they are just for play...not duty gear...

I've also hand built my "Hobby Guns" that I will stack up against any factory ar...but they do cost a few bucks...

Also I'd add my glocks, they just work...and are a great get the job done pistol...

I have a few high end 1911's from kimber and Wilson...but they cost 4-6 times the glock to run as well...

My 2 cents...and I'm sure there is more...

If the op has a specific piece or mfg I'm sure you'll hear all the negative ASAP

Gracias!

I'm seeing some very common names being thrown out there!  Great stuff!

I've been satisfied Troy, DD, EOTECH, Nikon, Wilson Combat.

What's the story on YHM products?  I've owned a couple rails they make and have not had a problem with them.  But I've been hesitant to buy anything else.
