Well, after days and days of trying to get a Bravo bcg, I am about ready to give that one up. I have stalked the computer and watched it, never in stock, even though I am sitting there and get the email saying its in.

I am seeing them on ebay for alot more then at bravo. That could be part of it. But, needless to say I have read all the stuff on here about them, (bcg makers) and am in the midst of my build, (some stuff here, some on order)
But the bcg is the biggest issue now.

How bout some suggestions that are good and actually available somewhere!

Thanks

yea I saw the ones at brownells, and the only DD they have is the chromed. Which looks like a young mfg. If I assume correctly. Looking at the young ones, even in there blown up pics they are not staked.

I'm pretty sure DDs chrome carriers are not Young Mfg produced.

Read the ‘What breaks in a carbine course’ before you buy cheap.
While problems with bolt carriers are rare the other parts in the BCG are not as forgiving.
I don’t know RedX so nothing against them, but cheap usually comes with some compromises. YMMV

Do you plan to take this rifle into battle?  If not get an a regular BCG that's well staked and upgrade the bolt later if needed.  Run the gun wet and don't stress about it until something fails.

PK Firearms has the Young NM chrome in stock.  I just ordered one and had it in 3 days.  The price was good also.  PK sent mine staked and ready to rock.  I have to say that even with a 10x lens I can't find a mill mark or blemish.  Also it came with the black insert but no donut so I added one.  I also added a one piece Mcfarland gas ring.  My action feels like butter even without lube.

Your Mileage May Vary.
There is a sticky somewhere with most of the slang on it.

Not to thread jack, but it seems an appropriate question for this thread.

Is the Nickel Boron coating worth it over standard chrome treated BCGs?

This is my first AR build, but I am attempting to do it right the first time so that this gun might one day go to my son.

Personal preference.
AFAIK there is no service life enhancement.
Personally I like a parkerized finish better for the price and the way that parkerizing holds oil.

Lost a BCG while posting payment info!! They get released at a random minuted in a 10 minute window. Will sell out in 3-5 minutes. Create an account. Refresh n be a NINJA!!! Stalk that page/item no. Forget any thoughts of hoarding. 2 max per order- so tell any friends you share your pain with to go get their own!!!

Anyway hope this helps. My avail times were 12:52, 12:59, 12:57, 1:01, 12:50 HST.

I have a Core 15 and it has everything that the BCM has, right down to the O-ring.
Oh, and $99.00 as well.
At least mine was.
