I'm going to build a couple of ARs for a friend and me. I've done three builds on RRA, Bushmaster and Stag lowers. All went flawlessly. I had no intention of selling them but people keep offering enough money that I cannot turn them down. So I'm back at the workbench. At least I've done enough of these now I know exactly what I want in/on them.
I've got what seems to be a good deal on some sequential S/N lowers built by LAR (Grizzly). Any of y'all have experience with their lowers, or products in general? I've owned a long slide Grizzly and loved it. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. |

I've never heard anything negative about LAR. My favorite is Aero Precision for a forged lower. They are local to me, very well done and priced right. For a billet set I would go with Mega, also local to me. |

Great list of where the lowers are built at...
I'm sure that this list could be updated...seems that every few days there is a new company putting out lowers. Maybe a sticky would be prudent with updates to this list. It a great resource and knowing where they are built is awesome. Bret P.s. thanks CTD |

I believe Quentin Defense makes the one of the best if not the best Lowers for the money. $169 for a Billet Lower is amazing and if you want, they'll mechanical or laser engrave your lower for a little more. Machining Video

I swear I had an FN M16 while in the Army too... It was an old POS rifle that rattled to damn much but functioned flawlessly when using good mags. Does/Did FN produce any M16's for the Army? Yes from what I understand FN makes all the military's general weapons, m16a4, 240,249 machine guns and the 50 cal m2. While i beleive colt still holds the contract for the m4s That they will eventually phase out |

I just built on a Spike's lower on Thanksgiving Day and everything fit tight and perfect! Same here, last night with a Spikes enhanced LPK. Well mostly, I'm still waiting for my vlt0r emod stock kit. Anyway, Spikes is GTG. I built with: RRA LPK with NM 2-stage trigger Magpul MOE grip with punisher lasered in both sides Magpul ACS stock on DPMS mil-spec tube and buffer and spring Custom extended takedown pins with Punisher logo Oversize mag release button with... you guessed it... punisher logo Winter trig guard with punisher logo. Looks damn nice! Now which upper??? Hmmmmmmmmmm???? |
