I'm considering getting one of the midwest industries gen 2 ss free float handgaurd.  I want to change out the FSB to their low profile gas block.
How hard is it to remove the pins on the sight? is there a really small pin holding the gas tube in the FSB? It looks like there is.

I have seen guys chop and reshape them, but I would prefer to remove it. It has the bayonet lug and I just don't really want to destroy it, its got sentimental value,.

The pins look the same on each side, they are directional though right?

Any info would be appreciated.

There is a roll pin holding the gas tube.
The FSB pins are usually tapered and usually driven in from starboard to port.
