Does anyone have experience with the samson evolution rail? I was thinking about the 11" for an sbr build but I'm not sure about the mounting system. It looks similar to the Troy rails and it looks like it clamps on. Does this type of mount stay tight with sustain fire and beatings that a battle rifle  goes through? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I have never had any issues with my Evo rail.  It uses the factory barrel nut with two shims that lock around the barrel nut teeth and two indexing tabs on the rail itself.  So it centers itself very well.

Can it slide off the shims that wrap the barrel nut?

Not as long as you tighten the clamping bolts.

Do it you won't regret! I put one on my First AR, and liked it enough that i put one i my next AR build. One of THE BEST bang for buck hand guards out IMHO.  If i decide to build any of the other 4 lower i have laying around. They are all getting Samson Evo rails. I have two 12.37  rails BTW

Also Samsons Customer Service is GREAT. Super fast replies any questions..  Great experiences both time.

Thank you for the replies, it has really helped me out. I'm on a budget with my SBR build and the 11" rail would be perfect.

I have a 10" on mine. I love it.
I used a little blue locktite on the screws.
