| So i am looking into building my second AR and am thinking of making one with a 20" bull barrell, and i really like R guns variety of barells you can choose. I did notice that the prices are very reasonable and was wondering if, like most things, "you get what you pay for.".... Are Rguns uppers quality or should i keep looking? |
| I had one of their lowers and it was out of spec. It wouldn't freely drop any magazine from the mag well. I would have to yank factory aluminum mags out of the thing and I couldn't even insert a Magpul mag. Also, the finish inside the lower was the roughest I have ever seen complete with machine marks and all. It is true, you do get what you pay for. |

AIM is selling Rguns bull uppers, maybe ask this question in their industry section...
I'll give a plug for J&T's varmint upper. Mine has been driving tacks with my reloads. I pretty much hear the same comments about Model 1 and M&A uppers also. Just an FYI if you don't want to chance Rguns. Rguns customer support gets a lot of negative comments too. |

Hey it's my first post, alright!
I've done 2 rifles so far with R Guns parts, with a third coming along on another RGuns lower. I used the 16" fathoms upper for the first and the very 20" upper you're looking at, I purchased it from AIM Surplus btw, awesome service from those guys. The 20" performs really well, I was popping pill bottles full of tannerite at 100 yards with no problems at all. I can't quote any amazing MOA stories, but this barrel is definitely more accurate than I will ever be. Also, the fit of all the pieces in bothall 3 lowers so far has been perfect, with the PSA lpks, minus the flying takedown detents. I did change out the handguards on both guns, I used a MI 15" gen 1 rail on the 20" and YHM diamond carbine length on the 16", both went on with no problems, and lined up perfectly. FYI. I buy the lowers from a local guy for a good price without dealing with shipping or transfer fees, so that's why 3 lowers. |
| IIRC the numbers correctly I have put together or assited others in in putting together at least 6 to 8, and perhaps a couple more, stripped RGuns lowers over the last 2 or 3 months or so and they have all been perfect and in spec in every way. They all went together and function without any problems at all....<><....:) |

R guns is junk. Last weekend I watched an rgunss bcg eat an rguns gas ring off an rguns bolt.
It was a brand new rifle and this failure happened about 95 rounds into it. The rguns lower on the same rifle would not drop mags free, and had a ton of slop when paired with the r guns 20" upper. |
| I have read a lot of bad reports about Rguns assembled guns and also a lot of bad stuff about thier (non existant) customer service. That said, and as I posted above, thier stripped lowers I have used have all been in spec and perfect, at least as good as and better than most others I have seen and built on....<><....:) |
