I was going to use a Model 1 Sales rifle kit but the lengthy backorder and sketchy online reviews convinced me to go another route. Yesterday I assembled the lower using a Spike's multi cal stripped lower, DPMS LPK and Magpul MOE+ grip and enhanced trigger guard. So far, so good. A BCM Standard 16" M4 Carbine assembled upper, BCG and Mod5 "Gunfighter" charging handle shipped out today so I should have them here by the weekend. I still have to order in a MOE handguard, ACE Skeleton buttstock kit and some kind of rear sight. I'm a little confused about what sight to order. The FSB is "F" marked, will any rear sight for a rail system work? I'm open to suggestions for a decent rear sight that I can use while my wallet recovers, eventually it will have some kind of optics installed.
Thanks, Mark |
| F marked sight bases are mil-spec, but almost any rear sight will work anyways. Better to buy a decent brand now and not worry about it after that. Once you get an optic you'll never think about it unless you need it and that where the decent brand comes into play. Magpul and Troy are the first two I'd look at. Both are high quality and will probably come as the two most recommended, with the magpul one being a sort of 'nearly indestrucible polymer from the gods' and the Troy sights are a durable aluminum. The troy also have more of a selection when it comes to the type of apertures the sight utilizes, but magpul is easier on the wallet |
