Hello Everyone,
I've been reading on AR15 for over 10 years now and wish I would have discovered the Build It Yourself forum a long time ago!! I have an AR10 and AR15 with slide fire stock but this will be my first build. My end goal is to build a SBR with a Can and use a slide fire stock . I want to build this SBR first as a Pistol because it will be a project in process for about a year. I've read tons of posts but I need some advice so I don't make mistakes buying the wrong parts.
I really want this to be a super light weight SBR so I can carry a drum magazine I'm thinking 10.5 or 11.5 chrome lined barrell because of heat from rapid fire. Any models come to mind that are light and good value? Do any other Upper parts need to be beefed up because of the rapid fire, besides the Can? Do I need to be looking at more expensive uppers because of the blowback after I add a Can? Until I add the can, what is the best flash hider for the money that will help with muzzle climb? What are the lightest and best value rails that won't be affected by the heat from the barrell? I like the magpul's because of price but worry about the material melting. Are there any LPK's or triggers that would work better or worse with a slide fire stock? Like I said this will be a plinking Pistol (until I complete paperwork for SBR and Can) with prob an EOTECH since I'm a right hand shooter and left eye dominant. I like the spikes or PSA lowers but I'm really at a loss for which uppers and barrells to shop for that are both a good value and will put up with the abuse from slide fire. Many Thanks!!! |
