I am awaiting delivery of a new M&P-15 Sport, NY/NJ compliant version with the fixed stock.  I'd like to replace the stock with an ACE skeleton stock.  The video I was able to find showed the person removing the colapsible stock and using the existing buffer tube to slide on the ace stock.  Simple.  However, I am guessing that since I will have a pinned stock I will need to remove loosen the castle nut, remove the entire buffer tube, and install a new one before sliding on the ACE stock.  Can anyone tell me if that is correct?  If so, is there a complete ACE kit I can buy with a buffer tube?  If not, anyone know what buffer tube I would need for the M&P sport.

I truly hate NJ.

It depends on which stock you bought.

ACE Skeleton Stock - Rifle Length uses the A2 spring & buffer.

ACE Skeleton Stock - Short uses a carbine buffer and spring.

Most all vendors sell buffesr, springs and/or buffer-spring kits. Palmetto State Armory, Rainier Arms, Brownells, Midway USA, Joe Bob Outfitters, Rock River Arms, Model 1 Sales, etc...
