I wanted something fairly light. I ended up moving the SPARC to this rifle for that reason.
**ETA more detail on the upper parts** Upper is a BCM Blem. 16" palmetto A2 profile mid length gas CH 1/7 barrel Spike's BCG Core15 V2 CH but will soon wear a new gunfighter Bought two KAC micro sights that were supposed to be non-USMC, but the damn things were! Contacted KAC and they said they were monitoring the adds on Ebay so I will run these until I can get legit replacements. Went with a KAC MK12/18 front sight. Trigger is a Mega tactical unit and uses a WMD NiB disconnect and a fail zero hammer with a JP 3.5lb spring kit. Rail is a 15" MI GenII. KNS Pins just because I like the stainless pins on the hard chrome and NiB trigger groups. LMT Ambi safety that has the right side shaved down thin and cold blued. Vltor modstock. Rainer mini-comp. Can't wait to try this out, range trip is planned for Sun. Troy trigger guard and MIAD grip. RRA lower. For giggles I also put scope set up on it and may sight it in as well for a second Reece set up. Final weight without loaded mag is 7lbs even.

Took it out today and it ran GREAT. Took a first time shooter out as well as my youngest son. My buddy's son tried it after I ran a function check and 20rds through it. He liked it, but liked the 14.5" pinned with the .22lr kit even more.
The brake is not all that loud when you are behind it. To the side of it, it's pretty damn loud. The griffin brake on my other rifle has more concussion, but not as loud. It had little to no recoil and a nice smooth short trigger pull. The JP 3.5lb springs came in Sat afternoon so they were installed for this trip. Had one light strike on a Monarch red box round. Other 19 failed without issue. All in all, I wouldn't change a thing. |
