I am currently in the process of collecting the parts for my first build. It will probably take a while longer, i'm in no hurry. My only requirements are, to not spend a fortune. So far it is going well.

Saying that, I also do not think that 'cheap' should also mean plain/boring. I already have a complete PSA ACS-L LPK, which includes that bolt catch. I do not see many people talking about them. I figured there has to be something that is not the normal look, yet doesn't cost a ridiculous amount. I have found the DPMS and RRA, both of which are standard, aside from the DPMS being the longer design for easier access. The only other I have seen is one from Wilson Combat and it is way too much for what it is. It does look nice but, it doesn't justify the cost.

I don't want, nor do I care for a lot of bling. I just think a subtle change would look nice. Any ideas/suggestions?

Thank you

This might be an option if you're gonna use a BAD lever.

Personally I'd advise to keep it simple.I have absolutely no use for extended or oversized levers on my AR's,or any other firearm for that matter.Extended/oversized cool looking controls in my experience has shown to be snag hazards, and as such have a tendency to get hung up and ultimately broken, and usually at the worst times.I won't even look at any of the bolt catch lever type extensions for AR's muchless buy any of them..

As far as the bolt catch,Ive snapped the top paddles off of the standard bolt catch by hanging it on my gear and/or impact on the side of the bolt catch paddle.I certainly would not want to increase its profile beyond what it is.
For that reason I prefer to use the Armalite bolt catch as it has more material around the stem of the top paddle and has a flat fully knurled surface, but yet retains normal paddle size/profile.As such I feel it is a more robust bolt catch.
Otherwise save your money for something that can actually aid you in the use of the rifle like ammo and mags,or a good sling etc..But thats my opinion.

I actually wasn't looking to increase it's size...just something that wasn't standard in texture design. Just something a little different. Thanks for the input, we do agree on the basic idea.

I do not plan on using a BAD lever, so that one is definitely out of consideration. Thanks for the reply though.

While those are made by respectable companies, they have very little difference from the standard bolt catch, like the ones from DPMS. Thanks for the help.

I must have visited more than 50 sites when I did my search. At no point did I come across that particular one. I even recall going to Rainier, but I believe it linked to a different one.

The Seekins is exactly what I was talking about, even though the price may be a bit on the high side, it's not to the extreme and is probably what I will get.

I wasn't trying to get others to do my searching for me...I just didn't seem to have any luck in my search....and it WAS extensive.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

That's about racy as it gets.
The Seekins is not tactile enough, IMHO.

I'm guessing that tactile is not a typo for tactical, and you're referring to the texture. Being that I just pop it with my palm anyway, it shouldn't be a problem. Even if it is I can always install the one that came with my PSA kit.

Thank you for the observation. All insight is appreciated because I know very little at this point and have a lot of learning to do.

Yes, texture (that improves traction).
