Well, I just started ordering parts for my first build. The plan is to get it done by the time I have to start school up again in the fall, shoot it until next summer and then give it away to two of my friends as a wedding present. This is a budget build.
Here's what I have so far: 16" PSA mid-lentgh 1:7 CMMG bolt carrier (a spare from my rifle when it went over to a piston drive) A2 Flash Hider (came off my rifle) YHM clamp on LP gas block Single stage trigger (again, off mine from an upgrade) Here's what I still need: Mid-length gas tube Bolt (not sure of what I'm getting here yet) Firing pin PSA upper and lower YHM Diamond Rifle length FF MOE grip and stock Magpul AFG MBUS's I'll probably just finish off the rest with PSA parts Not sure what I'm going to do for optics yet, depends on what the solider half of that relationship wants. If I don't get it all finished by the summer I'll at least have a working upper to swap over and start testing. Once the entire rifle is finished, it will be Duracoated FDE, or close to it. Anyway, I'm open to ideas and will keep adding bits and pieces as they are assembled. |
