Do we have a light weight picture thread??
So this will be my first light weight rifle build. I wanna stay around 5-6lbs unloaded. I have a CavArms complete lower coming soon and I'm thinking of a bushmaster superlite barrel assembly. I'm assuming all uppers are pretty much the same weight and I'm not sure about carriers/bolts. I'll probably go with a MOE Handgaurd. I have one on another build and like it. I have a BCM Light weight with a DD Lite12 which I LOVE!!! but I don't wanna spend that much because I'm just gonna hand it off to the wife or one of the kids. It needs to work but doesn't need to be " tier 1" I think a lot of folks put too much emphasis on the highest end stuff. I'm in the infantry and I've seen all types fail. Even the best of the best can be stopped up at the worst times. Don't get me wrong, I have some good ones, but I also have some mid range sticks that work great too. I just want a frankenstien that goes bang and I can strap to my ruck and forget i'ts there. Any suggestions would be great. I'd love to hear from those who have built super light weight sticks and see pics. Thanks. |
