I am building an AR-15 and I have decided on just about everything except the barrel. I am looking for a 16" Recce (Recon) barrel with 1:7 twist and M4 feed ramps. I need it to be black, ion-bonded if possible. The only one I have found thus far is here, but if anyone knows of any others, or any similar to what I am looking for, it would be a huge help.

Most of this site's sponsors (above and below) offer
various barrels for our hobby, have you looked at any of them?

Yes, I have looked at barrels from many different manufacturers but I am having trouble finding a recce barrel that is black and isn't over $300, which is about the limit of what I am willing to spend. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Parallax Tactical had 16" Recce barrels 416R, 1/8 twist, melonited at $250 - I have one.  Great shooter but a little overgassed.  0.085" port, would be better at 0.075" dia.

I am in the process of doing a Recce build myself. I found that most of the barrels that will fit the bill are a 1:8 twist rate rather than the 1:7 twist rate.

You may want to take a look at the BCM SS410 16" mid-length barrel with the IonBond finish, the Rainier UltraMatch 16" mid-length barrel in stainless or even the White Oak 16" mid-length barrel in stainless. These are all proven performers and would be great tubes for a Recce build. Plus, the manufacturers are all site sponsors and supporters.

Good luck!

Well I'm a little further from buying a barrel than I thought since the Larue Tactical STEALTH upper receiver and the DD buffer kit set me back another $350. Shipping costs suck . I really appreciate the help though since this is my first build.  I may try saving up for that BCM barrel, but the CMV barrels look pretty nice to. Any other suggestions would be a big help, and thanks for the support.
