I am building an 18" rifle with a Mk12 DPMS barrel. I want to install a Levang Brake, should I worry about how it is clocked or is it just preference? Do I just purchase a crush washer and wherever it lands it should be good?>

Thanks,
Mike

Do you mean a Levang Linear Compensator?  I purchased an upper with a 16" barrel and a Levang Linear Compensator, and it is not indexed to a particular location.  I have not noticed the location having an effect on its accuracy or feel.

Yes, Midway called it a brake so I went with that, lol. I am looking for one now, Midway has had them on back order forever.

If you can't find one, there is a device on SurplusAmmo.com called the Dragon's head that is a very close approximation.

I have one on my pistol.
