I know they are all generally the same. But is their any small differences between brand names to consider? Example, do all lowers have a beveled magwell or some more than others? Want to start to build one, and haven't seen many brands first hand to compare the small things if there are any. Plus any other advice to consider while picking parts would be appreciated.

Color and rollmark basically. Most in-spec lowers generally fall under the "lowers is lowers" creedo. As for differences in magwells, find the lower you want and ask about it around here....someone will have surely used it before. Now billet receivers are a different story...

The biggest difference will be between forged and billet. I love my billet POF lower. With the POF billet you can get cool things like ambi bolt release integrated trigger guard and NO roll pins! I am sure the billet is stronger too but I would never "worry" about a forged lower being too week….

Machined from billet is not stronger than forged.
Forging creates a grain structure that follows the shape of the part.
Billet, or bar stock, is extruded, and has a linear grain structure.
It is stronger along one axis then the other axis, like a piece of wood.

Either technique results in a product that is more than adequately strong in this application.

Billet just looks cooler and is more expensive to produce.

YHM has about the most bevel on the magwell I've seen on a standard forged lower.
