Is this a decent upper? (anyone with any experience from jsesurplus.com)

I don't know anything about the Nitride coated chrome-moly vanadium 4150 steel barrel.

It seems like a good price considering it comes with a mil spec bolt carrier assembly and charging handle.

The link says its a Del-Ton H-Bar, which are good eco upppers. But This isnt 4140 steel barreled like most Del-Tons. I would call them and ask who made the barrel. But otherwise $405 for the whole thing is really good especially when people are having a hard time finding them at all.

Have you thought about building your own?

What more would you expect for that price?

DTI builds good units at a bargain price. If you want quality buy Noveske or LaRue.

I'm not looking for super high quality. Just mil spec quality.

I have thought about building my own. I may end up going that route in the end. Just because I'd like to learn how. My biggest concern about building my own is setting the front sight on that barrel. I don't own a mill and I believe most barrels do not come with the front sight pin detent drilled in the barrel. (unless I'm mistaken)

I will also need to get a vice and barrel wrench. So the cost will go up for the first upper I build anyway.
