Ok so I put together a Palmetto lower with their LPK and after about 40 rounds my 5.45 upper just beat the living hell out of the buffer retainer and retainer spring. After clearing a heck of a jam the retainer spring was sprung in about the middle and the retainer was bent enough that It couldnt slip back into the hole. I took em out, reassembled and fired the rest of my sighter/break in rounds but any ideas on this one. I dont want just replace and keep having the same issue.

Is the bolt carrier the same length as a regular AR bolt carrier?   Is the buffer tube screwed all the way in?

The bolt carrier is supposed to touch the buffer at all times and the buffer shouldn't be hitting the pin at all.  fwiw, you can run the gun without the pin or spring in there at all.

I ended up running it without but come to think of it the tube didnt seem to be able to screw in all the way when I first put it on there. Will have to check that, good call, thanks guys.

The tube needs to screw in far enough to land on the flange of the buffer retainer. The end of the tube retains the buffer retainer.
There is only one spot for the tube to stop on.....if you try to go another turn from the sweet spot, you will jam the tube against the retainer pin.
