Looking to build a light weight AR but don't know where to start.

theres an lw pic thread im sure everyone posts specs with their pics.
Start with the barrel then figure out hand guards Those will be your two biggest weight savers.

The shorter the barrel the lighter it will be. A 14.5" with a pinned flash hider will be lighter than a 16" without a pinned FH. Even lighter? Pick up a 11.5" and start the NFA paperwork.

I have a Stag M4 16" and a friend of mine just got one of the DPMS Oracles and that is the lightest rifle I have held. It is so light that I am thinking about getting one for my wife.
