I have an commercial buffer tube installed in mine and i am wanting to replace it to milspec.  Ive looked through the threads and could not find what i was looking for

First can i just buy a milspec buffer tube to just one for one switch out?
If so, how easy is it? if not what would be the process and/or any links to install help?

thanks a bunch

Easy, but you'll need access to a barrel wrench (cheap) to loosen and then re-tighten the castle nut.   And knowledge of the interior parts which can go flying if you aren't careful.

Check www.joeboboutfitters.com http://www.joeboboutfitters.com/product_p/jb-milspec%20tube.htm or bravo company for the stock tube

Heck, Palmetto State Armory, in your home state, has one even cheaper

An option for a wrench:

Or else you might want to get one from whoever you get the tube from.

Castle nut wrench
You will also need a mil spec stock....your commercial stock will fit loosely on the mil spec tube.
As stated above, understand the process. You will have to deal with 2 different springs and detents.
Hammer and punch to re-stake
