Been wanting to do an upper reciever swap. Have a Bushmaster xm15. The catch is that it has rifle feed ramps. And when it comes to upper reciever choices, non m4 feed ramped uppers are few and far between. The only ones I've found that I think are worth their salt are the Rainier Arms. Haven't found any from BCM or Danny Defense, or anyone else for that matter. Unless I'm just not looking hard enough. Any suggestions. I've heard that RAs stuff is pretty good. No experience though.

Best Regards,
Hank

I believe that CMT is what BCM sells when they're in stock.
There's a CMT and a RRA here that don't have M4 cuts.

I just rec'd the CMT and it was excellent.
Dust door and FA installed for $89....

Your old upper has 'Rifle' feed ramps.  Is there some reason your new upper cannot have 'M4' feed ramps?

There is nothing in the lower that specfic to the feed ramp design.

It is the Upper, and Barrel extension that need to match.

yes there is. The barrel extension now doesnt have m4 feed ramps. He cant use an m4 receiver.

Okay, your photo confirms what I had said, so the question for the OP is, Are you wanting to get a new 'Complete Upper' (Which is what I took your question to mean), or do you want ot buy a new 'Stripped Upper', and move your existing barrel to it (Which is how DanNH has read your question)?

Now I see what you were trying to say.

But without getting too much into semantics, he specified wanting a new upper receiver. No mention of a complete upper.

And a 'stripped upper' is just that. The upper receiver without the ejection port and and forward assist.

A 'complete upper' is not necessarily a barreled upper. It can just be the upper receiver with the ejection port and forward assist assembled.

I think we're all on board with the ramp configurations.

OP will have to confirm, but I believe that he just wants to change out the receiver (A2 ––> A3) and retain the barrel which rifle ramps.

A stripped upper is what I'm after. And since my barrel ext. is non-m4 my reciever has to match as such. Sorry about the confusion. I know a complete upper would be the simplest route, but the only thing I'm after is a flat top reciever, as I have an A2 now. Hope that clears things up. Thanks to all for the input.

I highly recommend that CMT in my link above (PK).
$89 is way cheeeep for FA and dust cover installed. (same part is $130 @ Rainier)

You may not find a stripped A3 without M4 cuts.
Even if you did the price would likely be similar to the above.

I checked on BCMs website, and I think they had those CMTs, but weren't labeled. I imagine that's what they are. Said they are made by a USGI contractor. Really views were good.
